Come to Washington’s San Juan Islands and experience the best of the Pacific Northwest. With a majority of days being sunny, the San Juan Islands provide everything you need for an unforgettable vacation.
An ideal place for weddings, family vacations, couples getaways or corporate retreats; the San Juan Islands are incomparable when it comes to outdoor activities, fabulous accommodations, first class restaurants and most of all, unbelievable natural beauty.
The San Juan Islands are surrounded by snowcapped mountain ranges in every direction. Enjoy views of the Cascade Mountain Range, Mount Baker, Mount Rainier, the Olympic Peninsula, and neighboring Canada’s Vancouver Island, the Wasp Islands and Canadian Rockies. From here you can see some of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the world.
Lopez
Lopez Island offers a unique and quiet retreat from the city life and is the smallest of the three main islands with a low population of year round residents.
Lopez presents a variety of small inns and bed and breakfasts from rustic to contemporary with different views depending upon which part of the island you choose to stay.
In the Lopez Village you can find fine or casual dining and a grocery store for packing picnics.
All of the wild flower lined roads here are two lane and safe for sightseeing, bicycling and walking. There are also a variety of farms along the roads that offer local, organic products such as wool and fresh produce. Don’t miss wine tasting at the Lopez Vineyards.
Orcas
Come to Orcas Island and hike for miles below huge cedar and fur trees in an old growth forest in Moran State Park, play in a gorgeous lake, and enjoy panoramic views of the San Juan Islands atop Mount Constitution –the highest peak in the San Juan Islands.
Orcas Island is home to many artists and you can find them as you drive…just look for their signs at the beginning of their driveways as you wonder along the country roads. You can watch as they create pieces for their collections in their small, island studios.
At the end of the day, enjoy dinner in the small village of Eastsound and then retreat to one of the inns, hotels, bed and breakfasts or resorts on this beautiful Island.
San Juan Island
Come stay on San Juan Island to experience days filled with fun activities and evenings enjoying the sunset and good food at one of our excellent restaurants. At the end of the night you can sleep in comfort at a lovely bed and breakfast, hotel or resort, or vacation rental.
San Juan Island is renowned for its whale watching and kayaking tours as well as offering safe two lane country roads for riding bicycles or mopeds. Along these roads you can stop off at one of many pebble stone beaches, visit a county/state/national park, hike along cliffs and through fields of long golden grass or you can visit local artisan shops and observe as the artist designs and creations. Walk through a hillside of lavender at the Palindaba Lavender Farm and taste award winning wines at San Juan Vineyards. San Juan Island is also home to the county seat of Friday Harbor and the historical Roche Harbor Lime and Cement Company.
